Are We Heading Toward a Sustainable Future or Stuck in Idleness

The transition to a future powered by clean and renewable energy has been one of the most important topics for many years. Various types of renewable energy sources are being developed, such as solar, hydro, onshore and offshore wind, geothermal, and biomass. However, as recent climate science has revealed, the world's decarbonization efforts are not going as fast as needed in order to meet the 1.5C threshold of the Paris Agreement.

Novel design for floating offshore wind approved by ABS

ABS issued an approval in principle (AIP) to ECO TLP and MOCEAN-Offshore BV for a floating offshore wind turbine support structure.

The unique design from ECO TLP utilizes slip-formed cylindrical concrete hulls and gravity anchors, which, when combined with a tension-leg mooring system, has a smaller footprint than traditional structures using steel column-stabilized hulls.

Innovatie in de offshore sector

n de offshore sector wordt momenteel volop geïnnoveerd. Zaken als de energie-transitie en de noodzaak van een kleinere ecologische voetafdruk (environmental footprint)  vragen om aanpassingen.
