Cadeler installed transition pieces on monopiles at the East Anglia 2 wind farm with a specialized lifting tool and a Huisman leg encircling crane.
Mocean determined the dynamic amplification factor on the crane hoist wire, concentrating in particular on the splash zone crossing, the most onerous stage of the operation. The earlier stages, lift-off from the sea fastening and slewing, were treated as wind loaded only. The work justified the maximum dynamic amplification factor for the lowering, giving Cadeler a defensible input for the lifting design.
