Cadeler contracted Mocean to analyze the lowering of an anode cage onto a monopile at East Anglia 2, using a guide frame deployed from the monopile top.
A transient dynamic analysis gave the maximum loading conditions and the peak response during lowering. The force on the cage and its horizontal displacement were the key response parameters. The analysis included the effect of the monopile itself on the wave and current loads acting on the cage and lifting tool, which mattered as the cage passed close to the pile.
